Aerion Corporation continues to lay its foundation for a global sales reach with the appointment of Axon Aviation as its exclusive authorized sales representative for the AS2 supersonic business jet in the Russian Federation. The appointment comes as Aerion over the past year put its senior sales management team in place, adding former Embraer top executive, Ernie Edwards, as its chief commercial officer, and former Nextant head Sean McGeough as regional v-p in the Northeast U.S. Aerion also planted a stake in Central and South America with last summer’s announcement of Equus as its representative in those regions.
Axon is a London-based firm that has specialized in high-end business jet transactions. Axon partners Kurosh Tehranchian and Niki Rokni have a track record of sales in Russia, Edwards said. “They have earned the confidence of principals and aircraft operators in the Russian Federation.”
Tehranchian noted that the firm’s Russian clients typically fly much more than an average flight department, and the AS2 can save up to seventeen 12-hour work days a year. “From Moscow, Axon’s clients can fly nonstop to Seattle, Singapore, Tokyo and Johannesburg, combining high subsonic portions over land and supersonic segments over water,” added Rokni.
